BICYCLIST UPDATE

While the rest of us have gone along with our normal daily lives, Brian Joas, the bicyclist who was severely injured in a hit-and-run accident in Eureka Township on 250th St. W. at Highview Avenue, has been on a very long road to recovery. Today, May 10, is Day 64 since the incident that changed everything. There have been over 125,000 views of his Caring Bridge site to date.

He has had multiple broken bones, multiple surgeries and many, many other procedures and lab tests. It is truly amazing what modern medicine can do. He has been able to communicate with his family and is undergoing a number of therapies daily, including being moved into a wheelchair today.

Fundraisers and blood drives have been planned and a news story aired on television last night.  news story

Shauna Joas, Bryan's wife,  has also been interviewed by The Pioneer Press. The article should appear in a week or two, she reports.

A deputy at last night's Town Board meeting stated that the perpetrator has not been identified yet. At last report, there was a $10,000 reward offered.
